Dear Family and Friends of Tele-Missions,
Greetings from Eastern Canada — land of snows, snowplows, and 10-foot snowbanks. This year’s Spring, we are looking forward to and will never be more welcome!! Today, Bob and I join with you all in spirit across the miles to not only honor the memory of our own dad, but to celebrate the on-going ministry of Tele-Missions International and the Child Care Center. I remember so clearly the enthusiasm and exuberance that dad brought to the formation of this out-reach back in the 50s. He knew that many more people could be reached with the gospel through the emerging media of T.V. and film. As a result, Tele-Missions was born-and now the work has evolved, expanded and flourished 61 years. God has blessed, and how wonderful it is to be able to celebrate with all of you today as we press forward to serve the Lord.
God Bless you all,
Robert and Marie McCarthy
Retired musicians Bob and Marie McCarthy have served on the Faculty of Nova Scotia’s Acadia University since ‘72.
Marie is a Voice teacher and Choral Conductor, Bob is woodwinds and Theory Specialist and an active lecturer / performer. Retired from university teaching, both are continuing with various research projects as well as advising and mentoring Acadia graduates and other students from their home in the “Land of Evangeline.” Bob performs in local churches, including their home church (Lockhart Ville United Baptist) where he is a frequent summer ‘guest’ speaker.
Marie and Bob have two children–Robert Erin and Shannon Kathleen, both working and studying in the Education field and have recently married.
As director of TMI… I, Gordon S. Anderson, Jr., am happy that Marie and Bob stay in close touch through email and phone communication. They are very involved with ministry that our father the late Dr. Gordon S. Anderson, Sr. founded and have given of their time, talents and finances to keep this ministry going forward. I personally thank God for their support over the many, many years working together in the great ministry of TMI and with the addition now of The Shepherd’s Little Family Child Care Center.

Shannon and Jason welcomed their wedding guests to the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens at Acadia.
The McCarthy Clan (inspired by the fun we had in Vermont) came from Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Maine… along with Clan Turner from Musquodoboit Harbour. Bob officiated, musicians Beth DuBois and Kevin Perkin performed as a flute and guitar duo, and the reception was held at Wolfville’s Blomidon Inn. A great party!!
The newlyweds spent a post-wedding week with visiting family (a full McC reunion in Baxters Harbour there visiting attendants, Diana Payton (Saskatoon, Sask.) and Sean Guisso (Vancouver, B.C.)
Mom and Dad loved it all.
